Now, on to business! I have a lot of information to share. Here is what you may expect over the last week of the school year:
Honors Wind:
If you complete your final exam prior to the end of the weekend, you need not report at 7 a.m. this week. The next time I will see you would be for either the Chicago trip on Friday, or for the Memorial Day parade and ceremony on May 27th, or both. That being said, I still have a few things I need you to do:
1) Stop by sometime tomorrow for your Chicago trip permission slip/itinerary
2) If you are not performing on Memorial Day, please turn in your tuner, instrument, lyre, flip folder, mutes, leather folder, music, clean out your locker, and take all personal items home for the summer either on Monday or Tuesday. This includes your Drillmaster shoes and percussion bags.
3) For those attending the Memorial Day festivities, you will turn in your concert music, band equipment, clear out your lockers, and take home your personal items following the Memorial Day ceremony. I will have pizza and drinks for you as well. You will earn three hours of personal time for attending the Memorial Day parade and ceremony.
4) Complete any overdue assignments. Message me when you have completed a playing test, so that I can update the grade-book.
Symphonic Band:
We will rehearse tomorrow (Monday, May 20th) for the Memorial Day parade and ceremony. Make sure to wear your tennis shoes from 8:00-9:15 a.m. But, before we rehearse, we will break-down the concert setup in the gym.
Your final exam is on Tuesday during first block.
I need you to do the following:
1) Complete final exam is on Tuesday, May 21st over the ILMEA scales. You are welcome to complete the test anytime prior to Tuesday. The test is on MakeMusic. Many of you have already completed the test at home.
2) Pass in your concert music on Tuesday once your test is complete.
3) For those attending the Memorial Day festivities, you will turn in your concert music, band equipment, clear out your lockers, and take home your personal items following the Memorial Day ceremony, on May 27th. I will have pizza and drinks for you as well. You will earn three hours of personal time for attending the Memorial Day parade and ceremony. Those not attending Memorial Day will turn in those items on Tuesday during the class period.
4) Complete any overdue assignments. Message me when you have completed a playing test, so that I can update the grade-book.
Jazz Band:
We will turn in all items, and clear lockers on Monday.
Leadership Interviews:
Congratulations on your auditions! The last step involves an interview with Mr. Vaal and me, which will take place after school on Monday and Tuesday, starting at 3:05 p.m. Please sign up for your interview time by clicking HERE. Please let me know should there be any scheduling issues.
Best of luck on your final exams, folks!
Graduates:
Graduates, congratulations! It has been a true pleasure getting to know you over the past 4+ years. I believe you are all performing on Memorial Day, but if not, please come see me to turn in your equipment if you haven't already done so.
