The Marching Tigers compete in the Panther Marching Band Festival at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, IL on Saturday, October 12th, 2024.

The packing list includes...

  • Department shirts
  • Department shorts or jazz bands
  • Drillmaster or CrossOver shoes
  • Black crew socks (tall black socks)
  • Dinner money (concessions) or sack dinner
  • Pants, comfortable shoes, and sweatshirt/jacket (optional)
  • Canteen/cooler for water

Eat a healthy breakfast before reporting for the call-time.


The schedule for the Panther Marching Band Festival:
8:00 am................Call-time for all Marching Tigers in department clothing
8:10 am................Load remaining equipment
8:30 am................Practice on the practice field (no instruments)
9:50 am................Buses arrive at the RCHS circle drive
10:00 am..................Depart for Charleston, IL
11:15 am................Estimated arrival time at Eastern Illinois University

11:16 am..................Lunch, provided by the Olney Music Boosters
11:45 am................Change into uniforms and unpack equipment
12:30 pm................Mental warmups
12:45 pm................Move to warmup area C
12:55 pm................Warmup on practice field
1:35 pm..................Move to the staging area/stadium gate
1:50 pm..................Arrive at staging area

2024 Effingham Marching Hearts Invitational

The 2024 Effingham Marching Hearts Invitational is scheduled for Saturday, October 5th in Effingham, IL. This is our last field show competition for the season.

Please make sure to bring the following items:​
  • Department shirt
  • Department shorts
  • Black crew socks
  • Drillmasters
  • 1 quart water cooler filled with water
  • Roughly $10-20 in cash for dinner & snacks (lunch is provided)
  • Sweatshirt or light jacket, pants, & comfortable shoes. It gets cold!

BAND ALUMNI NIGHT POSTPONED: The 9/27 homecoming game was rescheduled for 9/26 due to weather concerns. For this reason, the Band Alumni Night has been postponed until Friday, October 18th.

2024 ILMEA Audition Prep Day on the Campus of Eastern Illinois University

The music department of Eastern Illinois University hosts the 2024 ILMEA Audition Prep Day on Wednesday, September 18th  in Charleston, IL. The event is held in the beautiful Doudna Fine Arts Center on the campus of Eastern Illinois University.

The call-time at RCHS for students participating in this event is 10:00AM in the circle drive (next to the band room). RCHS music staff will transport students in a district vehicle. I anticipate the return time to Olney following the event to be around 5:00 PM.

Students are encouraged to bring money or a sack lunch/dinner for meals. Students should wear school appropriate clothes throughout the day.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is that time of the year! Please take a moment to review the upcoming schedule (including football games!) by clicking the 2024-2025 CALENDAR tab on this website. Unless otherwise specified, here are the details and schedule for the 2024 RCHS home football games:

Uniform: Full battle-rattle! This includes the department shirt, shorts, Drillmaster or CrossOver shoes, black-crew socks, bibbers (pants), marching band jackets, shakos (hats), plums, gloves, and guard uniforms.

Equipment: Your instrument, flip folder, lyre, & music

5:15 pm.……….………….Call-time for all RCHS Marching Tigers members & change into uniform.

5:45 pm……………………Rehearse in the rehearsal hall (RCHS room 153)

6:20 pm........................Drumline joins the football team for warmup at the stadium

6:20 pm…………………..Set parade block and march to the stadium.

6:50 pm……………………Pre-game (Star-Spangled Banner, School Song, followed by the tunnel)

7:00 pm……………………Game begins (stand-tunes & half-time show. 3rd quarter off for concessions)

Half-time Performance:
  • Perform the half-time/competition show.

9:20 pm……………………Estimated end to the football game
