2026 LIC Pep Band

Congratulations to those that were selected to participate in the LIC Pep Band Conference on Saturday, January 24th, 2026! Those students are Emma Meadows, Emma Gilreath, Alaina Parker, Tyler Longbons, Joshua Ochs, Conner Akers, Jereme Higginbotham, Marley Ralston, and Logan Kutz.

The LIC Conference is held at Robinson High School this year. Rehearsal begins at 10:00 a.m. The call-time for that day is 8:30 am in the RCHS band room. We depart for Lawrenceville, IL at 8:40 am. We arrive at the host school no later than 9:45 a.m. UPDATE: Due to Inclement weather, LIC has moved all game start times up by three hours. The new call-time Is 8:00 a.m. in the band room.

There is only one pep band this year. Pizza & drinks are provided for dinner at no cost to the students. Lunch is on your own. Students will need to bring money or a sack lunch. Concessions is also available on site.

Performance attire:

Jeans
Tennis shoes with socks
Department shirt
Basketball band jersey (unless all have a department shirt)

Required items:

Instrument
Valve oil or slide grease
Extra reeds
Money for dinner at concessions
Jacket or coat

Locations on site:
Gym = rehearsals and games
Band Room = storing cases, jackets, and other personal items

Based on previous years, the band will perform before and at half-time of two games The game times are as follows (take with a grain of salt):
Game 1 = 1pm
Game 2 = 2:30pm
Game 3 = 4pm
Game 4 = 5:30pm

2024 LIC Basketball Band

CORRECTION TO THE ITINERARY - DUE TO ROAD CONDITIONS, THE HOST SCHOOL HAS PUSHED THE FIRST REHEARSAL BACK TO 11 A.M. THE NEW CALL TIME IS 9:45 A.M.

The LIC conference pep band will be here in less than two weeks. The date for the LIC pep band is Saturday,January 20th and will be held at Newton Community High School. Call-time for RCHS Bands students (the nine selected to attend) is 8:45 a.m.

Rehearsal will begin at 10:00 am with the first game beginning at 1:00 pm and the following games at 2:30, 4:00, and 5:30. Performances will be from the gymnasium stage at Newton High School. If you could arrive around 9:40-9:45 to allow for set up, that would be great. We will be practicing in the band room.

The conference will also provide pizza and drinks for the students and directors in the afternoon.

2023 LIC Basektball Bands - LIC Basketball Tournament

The 2023 LIC Basketball Band is scheduled for Saturday, January 21st at Richland County High School. Currently, we have 96 student-musicians between the two basketball bands. Should students in one band also wish to play with the other band, they are more than welcome! However, I must stress that the student or students must still perform at both of their assigned games.

Percussionists, please bring their own sticks. We have three drum set players per band (six total). These students will take turns performing over the course of the two games at which they are assigned to play.

The remaining percussionists may play mallets or auxiliary percussion, whichever they prefer. In fact, when not playing, drum set players are also welcome to play a mallet instrument or auxiliary percussion. Drum sets are provided.

Mr. Ritter from Casey-Westfield High School will provide folders for students the day of the event (A BIG THANK you to Mr. Ritter!). One quick note. Students need to leave the music at RCHS for directors to collect. There will be two students per music stand/music. Each of the folders has pep music as well as the school songs for each school. Music stands are provided by RCHS.

The date of the tournament is Saturday, January 21st. The event is held at Richland County High School. The address is 1200 E. Laurel St. Olney, IL. Rehearsal begins at 11:00 a.m. Please arrive at 10:30 or 10:40 a.m. RCHS students, please arrive at 10 a.m.

Rehearsal will last 90-minutes or less. We perform before the 1st game and during half-times and between games, alternating bands. We will have pizza between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m.

Buses and RCHS students should park in the parking lot North of the high school (between the stadium and the high school.. Students may be dropped off at the circle drive. The band room is located on the circle drive. If you have any additional questions regarding the LIC pep band, feel free to contact me.

Little Illini Basketball Conference - 2022 LIC Basketball Bands

Congratulations to those that were selected to participate in the LIC Pep Band Conference on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022! You may find the roster of participating students listed below, as well as the assignments for the LIC Pep Bands.

The LIC Conference is held at Casey-Westfield High School this year. Rehearsal begins at 1:00 p.m. The call-time for that day is 11:00 am in the RCHS rehearsal hall. Buses arrive at 11:00 am at RCHS circle drive. We depart for Casey, IL at 11:10 am. Lunch is at Dairy Queen when we pull into town, so please bring money or a sack lunch. We arrive at the host school no later than 12:45 pm. Rehearsals begin at 1 pm.

Band 1 & Band 2 perform before games and during all breaks. Pizza & drinks are provided between 5:00 and 5:30 p.m at no cost to the students. Concessions is also available, for those that wish to bring cash.
