COVID-19 RISK MITIGATION PLAN FOR RCHS BANDS
The purpose of this policy letter is to describe the COVID-19 risk mitigation procedures that shall be undertaken by RCHS Bands. These procedures will allow the RCHS Marching Tigers to return to on-campus rehearsals and live performances during the Novel Coronavirus pandemic of 2020.
Currently, this plan is intended only for the marching band. Risk mitigation plans for concert ensembles will be published as we near the second term in 2020.
The Army Band at West Point also utilized commercial air purifiers, modified rehearsal schedule, and a gymnasium during their indoor rehearsals. We will likely follow their example (minus the gymnasium) for our concert ensembles. It is also important to note that 95% of Army Bands are categorized as Small Army Bands (37-piece), so while I am heavily utilizing their model, we will have to make alterations.
