- 9:00-9:07..................................Stow instruments, guard equipment, drill charts, coordinates, lanyards, water bottles, Drillmasters, Crossovers, and/or StylePLUS shoes.

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- MATTRESS FUNDRAISER: Please spread the word via Facebook, Instagram, X, SnapChat, etc! The more folks that are aware of this event, the better it will go. The better we do, the more resources the marching band, and winter guard get! See below for more details.
- FINAL PERFORMANCE: The performance time for the 2024 RCHS Marching Tigers Final Performance has been moved from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15th. This was done to allow friends and family to attend the RCMS talent show, which takes place earlier in the evening. Click HERE for more details.
- PERFORMING AT RCMS & ST. JOE: What better to wrap up our season than to play at both Olney middle schools?
- We perform at RCMS on Thursday, Oct. 17th. The Marching Tigers will meet at 11:00 a.m., depart for RCMS at 11:05 a.m., perform at 11:20 a.m., and head back to RCHS around noon.
- We perform at St. Joe on Friday, Oct. 18th. The Marching Tigers will meet at 2 p.m., before departing for St. Joe at 2:10 p.m. in a bus. The performance is at 2:30 p.m. We will return a little before 3 p.m.
- RCHS, ERHS, & WRHS BAND ALUMNI NIGHT: The Band Alumni Night game has been moved to October 18th. To attend, all they need to do is fill out the form by clicking HERE. The form is embedded within the webpage.
- Jazz Band Performs for the Auxiliary: The Jazz Band will perform at Carle Richland Memorial Hospital on Friday, October 25th at noon. We will meet at 11 a.m. in the music department. We will be back on campus around 1p.m.
- PLAY-OFFS: Reminder, reserve November 1st and 2nd for play-offs! Our football team is undefeated! If the play-offs are in Olney on one of those days, the Symphonic Band, the Honors Wind Chamber Ensemble will be there to support our team!
- BAND LOCKER MAGNETIC SIGNS: It is my hope that we can arrange for magnetic band locker signs to recognize you folks for your hard work! We also have individuals working on creating paper versions of your instruments to put on your lockers as well. More on this later!
- EIU BUS & ACTIVITY BUS ASSIGNMENTS: Most of the band has expressed an interest in staying for the large band classes at EIU. Click HERE to select your seating. Keep in mind that the activity bus leaves early. The bus will stay late.
- MISSING TESTS/ASSIGNMENTS: Missing a test or an assignment? There is still time! Get your assignments in ASAP! Grades are due tomorrow.
- HONORS WIND CHAMBER ENSEMBLE: Opening auditions to fill up to four vacancies for the 2024-25 Honors Wind Chamber Ensemble. This ensemble meets during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th terms from 7:00-7:50 a.m. Auditions will be held on October 2-12. Auditions are over the ILMEA Sr. Scales on MakeMusic. The audition has been posted under the Marching Tiger class on MakeMusic. Auditions are due no later than October 12th. The minimum criteria to be considered on the audition is 70%. After that, the chair goes to the best audition!
- LUNCH: The music department is open for lunch this week.
- 2025 MARCHING BAND LEADERSHIP APPLICATION: Click HERE to fill out the 2025 RCHS Marching Tigers Leadership Application. Applications are due by October 12th.
- SENIOR SONG: Never Enough/From Now On has been passed out. Your homework is to practice the tune before Thursday. Pay particular attention to the key change and cuttime section.
- ILMEA AUDITION RESULTS: District 5 Ensemble Selections Released via Nominate on Monday, October 14th.
OLD ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- BPT: Students may not claim Band Personal Time (BPT) the day before or the day of a performance. Sorry, folks. no BPT Thursday or Friday of this week.
- GREEN ROOM: Color guard, please use the restrooms to change. The Green Room needs to be accessible to all students, per the administration.
- Just a reminder that doors are unlocked at the following times for weekday rehearsals:
- Band Room glass doors = 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Main Entrance (student parking) = 6:50 a.m. until 6:58 a.m.
- We have 2 birthday shout outs to throw today. We hope that Foster Johnson and Trey Kuenhold have truly awesome birthdays today!!
- This is the final week of the term. Make sure you take some time - check your grades. Do you have any missing work?? Are your grades where you want them to be? Remember, we offer homework help after school in the library commons area. Keep your teachers happy.
- Our attendance challenge will end tomorrow. Remember, your class must meet or beat 95% to earn a one hour lunch next week. Get to class and get your work done.
- There is a Best Buddies meeting after announcements this morning in the commons.
- There is a Youth Alive meeting today during lunch in Profe Marriott’s room - room 212. Please bring $3 for pizza.
- There is an FBLA officer’s meeting during lunch today in Mrs. Stallard’s room.
- There will be an FFA meeting in the PAC during OTE this afternoon.
- There will be an FCA lunch in the open deck of Ron Herrin Gym tomorrow. All students are welcome to attend. Please bring some money for chicken from IGA.
- Tiger good luck roars go to our Tiger Soccer squad as they are on the road to Robinson this afternoon. Our Lady Tiger Volleyball squad is on the road to Robinson as well.
- Today is Thursday folks. You know what this means?? That’s right, it’s trivia Thursday. The first two students who email Mr. Houchin with the correct response will win some Ginger Ales. All righty folks, here we go: As you may or may not know, Columbus Day is this Monday (which means no school). What national holiday is celebrated in all countries??
