NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- FINAL PERFORMANCE: The performance time for the 2024 RCHS Marching Tigers Final Performance has been moved from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15th. This was done to allow friends and family to attend the RCMS talent show, which takes place earlier in the evening. Click HERE for more details.
- PARENT HELPER NEEDED: We are in need of a parent helper for the competition at EIU next weekend to help with the drum major podium. Please message Mr. Jones at [email protected], or via the RCCU1 app if available. Students, please pass the word.
- OLNEY MUSIC BOOSTER MEETING: Monday, October 7th at 6 p.m. in the RCHS Music Commons
- EARLY/LATE VEHICLES SATURDAY: Most of the band has expressed an interest in staying for the large band classes at EIU. Click HERE to select your seating. Keep in mind that the activity bus leaves early. The bus will stay late.
- MATTRESS FUNDRAISER PARENT/GUARDIAN MEETING: The meeting went well! Total, we had 43 in attendance (19 adults in-person, and 24 adults in attendance on Facebook Live).
- Band Personal Time (BPT) has been awarded. Students may earn up to 1 hour for an adult that met in-person. Those whose adult family members attended Facebook Live meeting received up to 30 minutes of BPT.
- $5 per adult that attended the meeting (virtually or in-person) will be deposited into the student's band activity account once we receive the check.
- MISSING TESTS/ASSIGNMENTS: Missing a test or an assignment? There is still time! Get your assignments in ASAP!
- HONORS WIND CHAMBER ENSEMBLE: Opening auditions to fill up to four vacancies for the 2024-25 Honors Wind Chamber Ensemble. This ensemble meets during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th terms from 7:00-7:50 a.m. Auditions will be held on October 2-12. Auditions are over the ILMEA Sr. Scales on MakeMusic. The audition has been posted under the Marching Tiger class on MakeMusic. Auditions are due no later than October 12th. The minimum criteria to be considered on the audition is 70%. After that, the chair goes to the best audition!
- DRUMLINE PERFORMANCE: Drumline performance for the boys soccer senior night is October 7th. The call-time is 3:15 p.m. in the RCHS band room. The location is currently at the middle school; however, it may be moved to OCC. The performance time is 4 p.m. Performers will be back by 5 p.m.
- LUNCH: The music department is open for lunch this week.
- 2025 MARCHING BAND LEADERSHIP APPLICATION: Click HERE to fill out the 2025 RCHS Marching Tigers Leadership Application. Applications are due by October 12th.
- SENIOR SONG: Never Enough/From Now On will be passed out to the band on Tuesday. We will rehearse the song the following week.
OLD ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- RCHS, ERHS, & WRHS BAND ALUMNI NIGHT: The Band Alumni Night game has been moved to October 18th. To attend, all they need to do is fill out the form by clicking HERE. The form is embedded within the webpage.
- BPT: Students may not claim Band Personal Time (BPT) the day before or the day of a performance. Sorry, folks. no BPT Thursday or Friday of this week.
- GREEN ROOM: Color guard, please use the restrooms to change. The Green Room needs to be accessible to all students, per the administration.
- RCHS MARCHING TIGERS DRUMLINE FUNDRAISER: Friday, September 20th from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the RCHS circle drive. There will be a bake sale and t-shirt orders taken that night as well.
- Just a reminder that doors are unlocked at the following times for weekday rehearsals:
- Band Room glass doors = 6:45 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Main Entrance (student parking) = 6:50 a.m. until 6:58 a.m.
