EIU Wind Symphony in Concert

4/11/2024

Picture
The EIU Wind Symphony and the Mascoutah High School Wind Ensemble performs in concert on the campus of Eastern Illinois University on Friday, April 19, 2024. Anyone currently enrolled in an RCHS ensemble may participate in the trip. The EIU Music Department has graciously provided complementary tickets to the RCHS Band Program! Students and staff will meet in the music commons at 4:25 p.m. before departing on a school bus at 4:30 p.m.. I anticipate we will return to Olney around 10 p.m.

None of the ensembles within the RCHS Band Program are performing. Students need only wear school appropriate, every day, attire.

Students are encouraged to bring money or a sack dinner, as the bus will stop for dinner in Charleston, IL before the concert.

2024 Band Day at Six Flags St. Louis

4/11/2024

Picture
The Honors Wind Chamber Ensemble is enjoying a day in the park at Six Flags St. Louis on Saturday, April 27, 2024!

Trip attire is the orange RCHS department shirt ($10), jeans or shorts, and tennis shoes. Students need not purchase a new department shirt should they already have a shirt.

The cost for students to participate is nothing! The RCHS Bands program is picking up the bill this year as a reward for enduring the pandemic and all that went along with it. Meals are not provided. Students should bring either money or sack meals for lunch and dinner.

The ensemble will perform The Invincible Eagle, and Havana Nights at the festival.

We perform at Pacific High School located at 425 Indian Warpath Dr, Pacific, MO 63069. Tickets are free to the public.

APPROPRIATE ATTIRE FOR THE WATER PARK:
It does not appear that the water park is open as of this point in the year. However, if that turns out not to be the case, and the park is open, you must wear a swimsuit to visit the water park in Six Flags. We recommend nylon swimsuits with liners. Six Flags does not allow guests to enter the water areas wearing thong bathing suits, regular shorts (including khaki and cargo styles), long pants, street clothes, cut-off shorts, or denim. Because they can damage the rides, we also do not allow swimwear with buttons, snaps, rivets or zippers. But, don’t worry—if you don’t have the appropriate clothing, swimsuits can be purchased on site! Here are more guidelines to help you pick out the best attire for your trip to Hurricane Harbor:

  • Shoes are not allowed in any attraction.
  • Aqua socks/water shoes are not permitted on some slides.
  • Swimsuits are only allowed in Hurricane Harbor, and must be appropriate for a family environment.
  • Shoes, proper shorts, jean and cover-up attire are all required when returning to the theme park.

PACKING LIST:
  • Department Shirt
  • Jeans or shorts
  • Tennis Shoes
  • Hoodie or Light Jacket
  • Hat (optional)
  • Swimwear (optional)
  • Towel (optional)
  • Sun Screen
  • Money or sack meals (lunch & dinner)

FIRST AID:
Our First Aid Station is located by Hurricane Bay on the East side of the Volcano. Our trained staff of Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians are always on duty during waterpark hours.
