Congratulations to Kendra Jellison, Ethan Steber, & Sydney Berkshire for their selection into the 2019 Illinois Music Education Association's All-State Music Conference. The music festival is a four-day event in Peoria, IL from Wednesday evening, 1/23 to Saturday morning, 1/26.

The 2019 RCHS Bands & Choir Quadannual Disney World Trip falls the Spring of 2019. The date of the trip runs from May 30th to June 4th. Included in the trip is a performance down Disney's Main Street for the band and a performance in one of the parks for the choir. I have included the itinerary for this trip at the bottom of this post. You may ask for a copy of the itinerary by emailing me at cjones@rccu1.net.

The cost per student runs $952.03. Parents or guardians may elect to pay outright, or make quarterly payments. The quarterly payments schedule is as follows:

• April 5 - $100 deposit per traveler
• July 5 - $200 per traveler
• Nov 5 - $200 per traveler
• Feb 5 - $200 per traveler
• April 5 – Final balance

The students may use the funds in their student accounts to cover the cost of the trip.

The RCHS Music Department will frequently hold fundraisers to help offset the cost for parents & guardians. We are, in fact, hosting a fundraiser at this very moment. Eighth grade students from St. Joe, RCMS, as well as RCHS bands & choir students are selling candy bars for $1. For every candy bar they sell, 50 cents goes into their student accounts. Each box earns the students $32 towards their student accounts.

The Drumline performs during basketball games at Richland County Middle School on Monday, November 19th, and at St. Joseph School on Tuesday, November 20th. The call-time for members of the drumline is 5:45 PM. The return time is estimated around 7 PM. For more details, please contact Mr. Vaal at jvaal@rccu1.net.

Good evening, RCHS Music Department friends, family, and students. My name is Christopher Jones, director of bands at Richland County High School.

The 3rd payment of $200 per person for the 2019 Disney World trip was due Monday, November 5th. For those that have not yet made the payment, please drop off a check no later than Monday close of business so that we may pay the travel company. Checks should be made out to the RCHS Music Department.  Also, please notate that the check is for the 3rd Disney Payment.

RCHS Choir and Band Student Account balances and statements are available on CutTime.net, which sends statements to your personal email. If you have not received a statement from CutTime, please visit the RCHS Bands website for instructions on how to setup an account. Instructions may be found at www.rchsbands.net under the CutTime tab. You may also find information regarding the 2019 Disney World trip under www.rchsbands.net.

Not yet included under CutTime are the candy bar fundraisers from October, or the Century Resources fundraiser.

We have not yet received word from Century Resources on how much profit the students have earned. We know how much money each student has raised through the candy bar fundraiser, but we are unable to enter the information into CutTime due to a glitch with CutTime itself. We are working with the developers to get that issue resolved. If you or your child sold candy bars in October, feel free to contact us for that information.

The Marching Tigers drumline is scheduled to perform at St. Joseph School in Olney, IL on Tuesday, November 20th, 2018 for a middle school basketball game. Times will be announced at a later time.

The Olney, IL Christmas Parade is scheduled for Saturday, November 24th at 6:30 PM. The schedule for the combined Symphonic Band, Honors Wind Ensemble, and colorguard is as follows:

5:30 PM.............Meet at RCHS in holiday festive wear (no uniforms) & load
5:50 PM.............Walk from the school to parade line-up at the intersection of Scott St. & East St.

6:10 PM.............Set in parade block at parade location
6:30 PM.............Parade step-off
7:00 PM.............Estimated meet-up with buses near Eagleson's Car Dealership
7:15-7:30 PM....Estimated return to RCHS

I recommend that all students layer up underneath to stay warm. Wear holiday related items, or at the very least wear lots of green and red!

Good morning, RCHS Bands.

I have included the rostes for both the Fall '18 Orange and Block Basketball Bands. Please take note of which ensemble you have been assigned. Also review the performance schedule for your respective bands. Your coaches, parents, and employers need to be aware of conflicts as soon as possible. If you are simply not able to attend a basketball game to which you were assigned, contact someone in the other band and arrange for a swap. Both students needs to fill out the online form. This includes those that have to miss a game because they are on the basketball team or the cheer team.
Please don't wait until you are a few days away from a game to make the swaps. Take care of it this week so that you won't run into complications later.
